Carbon dioxide

Carbon Dioxide /carbonic acid, the formula CO2.  Molecular weight (according to international mass 1977) – 44,009.

Liquid carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless liquid.

Liquid carbon dioxide is produced in two types: high pressure from 3482 to 7383 kPa (critical pressure) at a temperature of 0 to 31,05 °C; low temperature – from 3482 to 518,6 kPa (triple point) at temperatures from 0 to minus 56,5 °C

Carbon dioxide Gas is a gas without color and odor at 20 °C and a pressure of 101.3 kPa (760 mm Hg. calendar), density – 1,839 kg/m3.

Carbon Dioxide is non-toxic, non-explosive.

Obtaining

Carbon Dioxide (carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide), high pressure and low temperature, is obtained from the waste gases of ammonia, alcohols, and also on the basis of special fuel-burning and other industries.  Carbon Dioxide is produced in liquid low temperature, liquid high pressure and gaseous.

Application

Carbon Dioxide all grades applies:

the

Liquid carbon dioxide of the highest and first grade is mainly used for the needs of welding production.

The degree of impact on the human body carbon dioxide refers to a 4th hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76.

At concentrations greater than 5 % (92 g/m3) carbon dioxide has a harmful effect on human health, as it is heavier than air in half and can accumulate in badlyventilated areas. This reduces the volume fraction of oxygen in the air that can cause lack of oxygen and suffocation.
